Disneys Mickey and Minnie Mouse starred {first | early on |in their first debuted in the funny Plane Crazy, was first shown on May 15, 1928. The film was co-directed by Walt Disney and Ub Iwerks.Ub Iwerks was also themain animator for this short, and reportedly spent six weeks working on it. It is said, Iwerks was the first Artist for all Walt Disney short released in 1928 and 1929. Hugh Harman and Rudolf Ising also aided Walt Disney at the start of the Disney career. Although they were signing their contracts with Charles Mintz, but he was still in the process of forming his new studio and so for the time being they were still working for and employed by walt. This short would be the final movie they animated under this somewhat awkward situation.
