Things that never QUITE happened at Disneyland..
Here are just a few of the ones that did not quite make it:
Hollywoodland ( the original name for Hollywood!)
Hollywoodland was going to be a Hollywood themed land near Tomorrowland and Main Street
It eventually became Mickeys Toontown and The Great Movie Ride (Disney Hollywood Studios)
Maybe Disney worked out the cost of putting all those letters on the side of Space Mountain !

MYTHIA - a Land of Roaman and Greek Myths .. planned but never happened.

Epcot World Showcase : Equatorial Africa -
Got so expensive it was shelved and sponsorship promised by African Countries never materialised however several ideas from this land eventually turned up in Animal Kingdom

Israel Pavilion Epcot - recreation of Jerusalem was never built due to budget and secrity issues.

BEASTLY Kindom - was going to be animal myths and legends - replaced by Camp Minnie-Mickey
Could well be built in the future.

Disneyland - Museum of the Weird Funhouse style attraction with scary things that would come alive
Some of the ideas for this are integrated into the Haunted Mansion attraction instead.

Geyser Mountain- You are trapped inside a drilling machine and suddenly thrown into the air on a Geyser -
that would have been fun - scary but fun !
Wonder why it did not take off ?

(Please DO NOT TELL DISNEY about the Blue Mountains Railway in Australia where you drop almost vertically for half a mile - The MOST Scary Ride in the World
I am still mentally clutching the handbar I had to take home afterwards)

Nightmare Before Christmas Ride - You get into a coffin/sled and glide through scenes out of the film

NOSTROMO - a sci fi ride based on the
movie Alien (all fangs and dribble !)
I think it was just too scary to rescue people and shoot up the aliens.
(I hid behind my DADS seat in the cinema )
Interestingly this ride became Buzz Lightyear Astro Blasters.

Chocolate Factory Tour (YUMMY) Cancelled because I think they heard I was coming for the free samples !

Armageddon Special Effects (Stage 17 Hollywood Pictures Backlot)- cancelled
(Look out for Four Horsemen riding around there ... and a Fifth Horseman called Flatulence riding a dun-colored horse called smelly a good bit behind the others.)

Dragon Tower (Walt Disney World) Shame about this dragon themed ride - now very popular at a couple of other non-Disney theme parks

There are lots more rides and attractions many of which nearly made it but I guess it would take a much bigger theme park !
