Since first opening its doors in 1955, Disneyland theme park has remained at the forefront of family entertainment destinations and offers something for kids of all ages, from tiny tots to teenagers, as well as grownups!

To date, the famous theme park has attracted around 500 million guests with extra special visitors including several presidents as well as royalty and other heads of state.

Whether you are travelling from Los Angeles, Orange County, San Diego or further afield, you will be able to navigate your way to Disneyland with ease.

Many of Disneyland's visitors decide not to drive to the resort and opt for other methods of transportation. Wherever you are travelling from, there are trains and buses you can catch which will transport you to Disneyland safely, quickly and easily. You can also hire a car and take control of your own journey.

Disneyland is situated in Anaheim, Orange County in the American state of California. If you are travelling by aeroplane then book flights to either Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) or John Wayne Airport, both of which lie in close proximity to the Disneyland resort.

John Wayne Airport is the closest airport to the Disneyland Resort at around fourteen miles. Located in Santa Ana, California, the John Wayne (or Orange County) Airport is much smaller than LAX and is therefore very easy to navigate.

If you arrive at John Wayne Airport then you can get to Disneyland by public transport or you may prefer to hire a car and drive.

If you are driving then you need to join Freeway 55 and travel north for around three miles. Then you join Freeway 5 and continue north for approximately seven miles. Look out for signs for Harbor Boulevard as you want to join it and then you simply follow the signs to Disneyland.

LAX lies around 35 miles away from Disneyland and the journey can be made by driving yourself or catching a bus. You can catch a shuttle bus to Disneyland from any Los Angeles area airport. Some of the better known shuttle companies include Super Shuttle and Golden West Express. You can reserve your seats beforehand, which always helps to make your travel plans that little bit easier.

If you want to drive from LAX to Disneyland then take Freeway 105 east for 16 miles before transferring to Freeway 605 which you travel southbound on for just a few miles. Next you take Freeway 91 east for around seven miles and then transfer to Freeway 5 where you head south for five miles. Exit onto Disneyland Way and just follow the signs to the resort.

Disneyland covers a large area so a spot of forward planning is sensible before leaving for your trip. If you intend to visit the resort for more than one day then you could explore the options offered by Disneyland hotels<a/>. The disney fireworks start around 9:35ish. I live quite far away from disneyland and i can hear it from my house. I can also see the fire works too. So u shouldn't have a problem seeing the fireworks. That is unless your hotel is facing away from disneyland then you have a problem... But you can go out side and you should have a good view. They set the fireworks in the Disneyland 'lake', where the big boat is. so u kinda have an idea of where it will be coming from.

I don't know anybody who hasn't heard of that lovable cartoon character, Donald Duck.

Did you know that Donald Duck's real name is Donald Fauntleroy Duck. Out of all the cartoons created by Walt Disney and the Walt Disney Company, he is my firm favorite. Donald Duck is a typical white duck with an orange beak, legs and feet. You will usually only see him in his sailor shirt, cap, red bow tie and no trousers. Mickey Mouse is the most popular cartoon character of all time, followed by Bugs Bunny and Donald Duck comes in at a close third.

We can't help loving him, mostly for his unique personality - his impatience and his explosive temper. Although he is Mickey Mouse's best friend, they couldn't be more different in character.

Donald Duck's birthday was originally recognized as the 9th of June 1934, which was the day he made his first appearance in a supporting role in the film, The Wise Little Hen. His birthday is now given as the 13th of March 1942 as he states in his film The Three Caballeros which was released in 1944. Since he is always getting himeself into trouble, he is now said to be born on Friday the 13th.

Der Fuehrer's Face was the Movie that Donald Duck won his first Academy Award for. During the 1940's he featured in more cartoons than his best friend Mickey Mouse.

One of the most famous things about Donald Duck is his angry and nasal voice. This was done by Clarence "Ducky" Nash right up to his death in 1985. Since 1985 the voice has been done by Tony Anselmo, who was trained by Clarence for the role. Donald Duck's screen personality was created by Dick Lundy, who is a wonderful animator.

Donald also has an extensive cartoon family including his nephews Huey, Dewey and Louie, who cause him even more irritation. His Fathers name is Quackmore Duck and his Mother is Hortense Mcduck. He has a wealthy uncle, Scrooge McDuck, another uncle Ludwig Von Drake, an Aunt Bertie Duck, a cousin Gladstone Gander and even a Grandma that lives with his nephews in Duckburg. He has a twin sister Della Thelma Duck, whom we don't see that often and a brother Duffy Duck.

There are a number of quotes that Donald Duck says on a regular basis that have become famous. They include, "Oh, yeah?", "Hiya, toots!", "Aw, phooey!", "Nothin' to it!" and his most famous, "Oh boy, oh boy, oh boy!"

Love him or hate him, everyone enjoys a Donald Duck Cartoon.

A dead sperm whale specimen is a popular attraction that is housed in the Sperm Whale Zone. Visitors can also view how the dead sperm whale specimen had been prepared, through videos and pictures, and even gather more general information on these majestic marine mammals. Get up close and personal with the playful dolphins in the Dolphin Zone as they frolic in an area with a resting pool, performing pool, watching pool and living quarters. Here, visitors can feed the dolphins and have their picture taken. Last, but not least, stop at the Ocean Zone where most of the creatures are either from the tropics or the sub tropics and range from large sharks, coral-reef fish, grouper fish and crab species. Feeding turtles and baby sharks is another encounter you will never forget at Xiamen Underwater Seaworld. Many classic older attractions at Disney World have fallen by the wayside over the years as Disney replaces them with newer (and occasionally better) ones such as Expedition Everest at Disney's Animal Kingdom; Lights, Motors, Action! Extreme Stunt Show at Disney-MGM Studios; The Seas with Nemo & Friends at Epcot; and Stitch's Great Escape at Disney's Magic Kingdom. Here's a brief list of some "long gone" but not forgotten Disney World attractions:

1. Mr. Toad's Wild Ride. Despite an extensive "Save the Toad" campaign, Disney's Magic Kingdom replaced Mr. Toad with The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh in 1998.

2. 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea. One of the original attractions at Disney's Magic Kingdom, 20,000 Leagues closed in 1994 and has been partially replaced by a Winnie the Pooh playground and Disney character meet & greet area.

3. If You Had Wings. Sponsored by Eastern Airlines, If You Had Wings was one of the few rides at Disney's Magic Kingdom that rarely drew a line. It was replaced by If You Could Fly in 1987 and now Buzz Lightyear's Space Ranger Spin stands on the site.

4. Captain EO. A big-budget 3-D movie directed by Francis Ford Coppola, Captain EO starred Michael Jackson and Anjelica Huston. It closed down in 1994 and Honey, I Shrunk the Audience now stands on the site in Epcot's Future World.

5. ExtraTERRORestrial Alien Encounter. This thrilling attraction opened at the site of the former Mission to Mars in Tomorrowland in 1995. ExtraTERRORestrial gained a cult following but has since been replaced by Stitch's Great Escape.

6. World of Motion. Sponsored by General Motors, World of Motion was one of Epcot's original attractions. The ride offered a humorous look at the history of transportation and closed in 1996 to make way for Test Track.

7. Who Wants to be a Millionaire - Play It! Based on the hit ABC TV show, this Disney-MGM Studios attraction closed in 2006 along Mickey Avenue. A new, yet-unnamed attraction is scheduled to occupy the soundstage in the near future.

8. Plaza Swan Boats. Opened in 1973, the D-ticket Plaza Swan Boats embarked from two Magic Kingdom loading docks: one near the entrance to Tomorrowland and the other near the Plaza Restaurant. The Plaza Swan Boats stopped running in 1983.

9. Mickey Mouse Revue. One of the Magic Kingdom's original attractions, Mickey Mouse Revue opened in Fantasyland in 1971 and featured an audio-animatronic orchestra of popular Disney characters singing such classics as "When You Wish Upon a Star" and "Hi-Diddle-Dee-Dee." The Mickey Mouse Revue closed in 1980 and was shipped to Tokyo Disneyland. Mickey's PhilharMagic now occupies the site.

10. Flight to the Moon. Hosted by Mr. Tom Morrow, this "state-of-the-art" Tomorrowland attraction opened on Christmas Eve, 1971 and became hopelessly outdated by 1975 when it was replaced by Mission to Mars. Stitch's Great Escape now occupies the site.

You won't go hungry either. From an all you can eat Mediterranean buffet to the Silver Spur steakhouse, you can find almost every type of cuisine here, catering for every budget, desire and hunger. There are even smarter restaurants, so grab your glad rags and indulge in some fine dining.

Euro Disney offers great holidays for the family, allowing for a stress-free time at good value for money. There are two theme parks on offer, a village with cinemas and restaurants, a choice of hotels and a large golf course. This makes sure everyone will be kept entertained.Two airports - Charles de Gaulle and Paris Orly - service the site, and both are a quick ride away from the parks on the VEA Airport Shuttle. Flights to these airports leave on a regular basis from most major UK cities. Alternatively, travel on the Eurostar from London St Pancras International or Ashford International, and arrive within metres of the gates of Euro Disney. An express luggage service is offered here, so get on with making the most of all the activities available.

There are 14 hotels on site to suit all criteria and comfort levels, seven of which are Disney branded. The Disneyland Park contains five lands of differing themes, an endless array of rides, and the chance for little ones to have a photo and grab an autograph with Mickey & friends. Those into thrill seeking holidays can experience the wrath of Space Mountain Mission 2 or Big Thunder Mountain. For the more faint-hearted, check out 'It's a small world' or explore Sleeping Beauty's Castle. Walt Disney Studios Park is just next door and its rides are all inspired by Disney's greatest movies such as Toy Story and Finding Nemo. Take a Tram Tour of the park and see all that it has to offer before embarking on a studio adventure.

As the parks close, head to Disney Village to carry the fun into the evening. Here you'll find an IMAX 3D cinema - screening all the latest films - and theatres staging Disney productions. Visit Billy Bob's for Western style music or go to Nex Game Arcade and try out some bowling or arcade games. Step into one of 70 restaurants and bars in the village and eat anything from pork spare ribs to Chinese noodles, with a cheeky cocktail on the side. There is even a McDonald's for cheap holidays.

The Tourist Information kiosk in the resort has details on things to do outside of Euro Disney. The UNESCO World Heritage site of a Provins, a medieval walled town, is in the area. A self-guided tour departs from the resort to Provins between April and November. Also, go to Château de Fontainebleau and learn about 700 years of French history. Just 40km away is central Paris, where a day trip by coach will take you to landmarks such as Notre-Dame Cathedral and the Eiffel Tower.

WordPress How To - Exclude Categories from a Feed

One of the best aspects of WordPress is that it gives you remarkable control over your feeds, allowing you to pick and choose what you would like to display and in what way. Granted, that applies to WordPress in general, but it is infinitely useful for the feeds your system creates.

For instance, if I want to merely show one category in a feed, I would link to feed for that single category. A feed that would only show the reviews of the site is very simple to achive. You go the page main category page (in this example the category is 'reviews') and then you add a forward slash (/) and the word 'feed'. Like this:

http://blog.websitestyle.com/index.php/category/reviews/feed/

However, if you wanted to exclude that category, then you would need to know the number of the category. That is simple enough to find. You would go to your 'manage' tab, then click on 'categories'. Scan down your category list, and you'll find the number of the category in the associated 'ID' column. So now, for the above example, my 'reviews' category has an 'ID' of 18.

Now each WordPress blog has a feed URL that will display ALL posts from the blog regardless of category. It looks like this:http://blog.websitestyle.com/index.php?feed=rss2

To exclude all posts in the 'reviews' category, you would instead using the following adjustment to your normal feed link:

http://blog.websitestyle.com/index.php?feed=rss2&cat=-18

And now you have a link to a feed that shows all my categories EXCEPT for those in the 'reviews' section.

Ah, but what if you want to exclude more than one category? What's the syntax?

You simply add each one to exclude like this:http://blog.websitestyle.com/index.php?feed=rss2&cat=-18&cat=-22

The above would exclude both my 'reviews' and 'templates' categories. I actually use this when I embed my blog feed in another website that is purely tech (nothing personal included), and I exclude things I've categorized as non-tech related so they don't show up.
