Mickey and the lovely Minnie Mouse starred {first | early on |in their first film in the short Plane Crazy, first released on May 15, 1928. The short was co-directed by Walt Disney and Ub Iwerks.Ub Iwerks was also thefirst animator for this short, and reportedly spent six weeks working on it. The Rumour was , Iwerks was the main Cartoonist for all Disney short released in 1928 and 1929. Mainly Harman and Ising also assisted Disney at the start of the Disney career. Although they were signing their contracts with Charles Mintz, but he was still in the process of forming his new studio and so for the time being they were still employed by Disney. This movie would be the last they animated under this somewhat awkward situation.
