Mickey and Minnie starred {first | early on |in their first film in the funny Plane Crazy, first released on May 15, 1928. The cartoon was co-directed by Walt Disney and Ub Iwerks.Ub Iwerks was also themain animator for this short, and reportedly spent six weeks working on it. The Rumour was , Iwerks was the top Cartoonist for all of Disneys short released in 1928 and 1929. Mainly Harman and Ising also assisted Walt Disney in the early years. Although they were signing their contracts with Charles Mintz, but he was still in the process of forming his new studio and so for the time being they were still working for and employed by Walt Disney . This cartoon would be the final movie they animated under this somewhat awkward situation.
