Three Tips for Picking the Perfect Halloween Costume
Disney Characters Costumes
Article by Disney Fan
With Halloween just around the corner, try not to make the same mistakes from earlier years and end up with an unoriginal costume that seven other lame-o's at the party are also wearing. You've got to think outside the box and be original. These three tips will help you choose the best costume for the Hallow's Eve party this year.
1. Gather all the big movies this year. Done thinking yet? Awesome, now drag them to the recycle bin. Stay as far away from them as you can. Was there an X-men movie this year? Then you definitely want to stay away from being Wolverine or Storm. Did Spiderman 7 come out? Then don't be Spiderman or the villain of the week. Harry Potter? Forget about it. You get the idea. When you select a character from a recent movie, you run the risk of facing the dreadful nightmare of being the same thing as another party-goer, and inevitably drawing comparisons. Competition is bad and will not make you stand out. Instead, you should opt for something a bit older and "classic," perhaps aged maybe fifteen to twenty years. Why is this better? Because you can just about warrant that the older you go, the less likely you will be a knockoff of somebody else at the Halloween festivities. Plus, a character aged over a decade will bring back good feelings, because we were all a bit younger then, and we all probably had fonder memories from back in the day. Capiche? Play to other people's happier pasts. What was big back in your childhood? If you choose an original enough character, you'll be rolling in the money. That you'll be winning. From the costume contest. Am I right or am I right?
2. Pay attention to the details. Now if you opt to ignore the 1st tip, you can still outshine the nine other Spidermans at the Halloween party. What's the secret? By paying attention to the minute details. These little things are what make the character identifiable. So scrutinize the character's attire thoroughly. Note every idiosyncratic detail. What exact color pants is he usually wearing? "Brown" is not good enough, what exact shade and pattern? What sort of shoes does she sport? Does he tuck in his shirt? Does this character wear jewelry? Get yourself lots of photos and ask yourself these sorts of questions to make your costume true to the costume. Though people likely won't notice half the details, they'll subliminally see that you've got the best costume of that character at the office Halloween party by far if you play along with this tip. Bonus: Adopt the character's manners, including the way he talks, trademark actions, and demeanor.
3. When all else fails, go with Disney costume ideas. Yup you heard me right. You can't fail with Disney characters. Everyone loves a Mickey Mouse or Goofy. But don't stop there, there are a ton of memorable Disney movies out there and each are all so instantaneously recognizable. C'mon, who dresses up as a Disney Halloween costume character these days? No one. Except you. And you will be magnificent. I think it's high time to bring back Jafar and Ursula.
