Disneys Mickey and the lovely Minnie Mouse starred {first | early on |in their first debuted in the cartoon Plane Crazy, was first shown on May 15, 1928. The movie was co-directed by Walt Disney and Ub Iwerks. Iwerks was also thefirst animator for this short, and reportedly spent six weeks working on it. The Rumour was , Iwerks was the top Cartoonist for Each Walt Disney short released in 1928 and 1929. Mainly Harman and Ising also aided Walt Disney in the early years. They had already signed their contracts with Charles Mintz, but he was still in the process of forming his new studio and so for the time being they were still employed by Disney. This cartoon would be the last cartoon they animated under this somewhat awkward situation.
