Disneys Mickey and the lovely Minnie Mouse starred {first | early on |in their first debuted in the cartoon Plane Crazy, first released on May 15, 1928. It is said, Iwerks was the top animator for all Disney short released in 1928 and 1929. Hugh Harman and Rudolf Ising also assisted Disney at the start of the Disney career. Although they were signing their contracts with Charles Mintz, but he was still in the process of forming his new studio and so for the time being they were still working for and employed by Walt Disney . This movie would be the last they animated under this somewhat awkward situation.
